I am sitting here today reflecting on the 20 years I have been practicing massage. I teach and I still practice with many clients and am still loving every minute of doing massage. Sphere Therapeutix is now my main bodywork modality and is a culmination of my many years of training.
I love Sphere Therapeutix because it it is very effective in treating the client and it saves my hands. This treatment involves little pressure from the hands as it mostly utilizes body weight from the therapist transferred through the hands. The 4 inch air filled sphere serves as a fulcrum to allow for deep tissue work to be done. T Spheres aromatherapy massage balls are used in combination with the air filled sphere and can be rolled on the body part and used under the body to open and create space.
This technique is easy and fun to use. The traction therapy used in Sphere Therapeutix aligns, stabilizes and gives freedom of movement.
I work in a Physical Therapy office and a Functional Medicine doctor’s office. Sphere Therapeutix helps with post-rehab,and reduces pain in medical conditions such as low back and neck pain. It also aids in sports injury and improves sports performance. The possibilities with this treatment are numerous. I have clients that are post-spinal fusion, stroke patients, spinal cord injury, lyme disease, plantar fascitis, overuse syndrome, as well as, runners, cyclists, and golfers.
