Alignment of your body is crucial when it comes to performing bodywork.  Keep a straight line from your hands to your feet to apply pressure and make sure that the power for your stroke is generated from the back foot.  Use your back foot as a gas pedal to press off the ground and transfer the power through your body to the client. Make sure that your scapulas are stabilized and your wrist in alignment with your forearm.

It is important to stabilize the body properly from the core to the shoulders and through the hands. Alignment and stabilization go hand in hand and help prevent injury and increase endurance for massage therapists.

An important tip for the wrists: Envision a zipper extending from the forearm to the palm. If the wrist goes into deviation, then the zipper will stick. It is a good idea to keep a straight line from the forearm to the fingers to reduce strain on the wrist joint.
